Same fox. This one really exhibits his eyes. Notice, the right eye is blind. |

This is a glass ball float that I witnessed washing ashore. The video is on this blog as well. Scroll to the bottom and click "older posts" to find it. |

Red Fox has bird for dinner in Nelson Lagoon
Beach-combing this past weekend. Found some whale bones and what I'm pretty sure is a bear skull.
On our way back home and this fox walks up on us. Doesn't seem to fazed about our presence and gave me some nice photos. After uploading these photos, I noticed the fox's right eye appears to be blind.

You can see the color difference of the eyes in this shot. |
A closer view of the fox's eyes reveal apparent damage to the right eye, |

Flying from Nelson Lagoon to Cold Bay, Pavlof is on fire!
I flew from Nelson Lagoon to Cold Bay on Saturday, May 31st. The night before after dark, I saw the glow of lava coming from Pavlof Volcano. My pilot for this trip asked if it was ok if we flew close to the volcano to check out the activity. I was excited and readied my camera. It's always a challenge taking photos from inside a plane so the quality isn't always the best but I still got some pretty cool shots. Thanks Jad for the epic flight.
Leaving Nelson Lagoon, Jad circled the village to allow me to get some pretty cool shots. |
